Doctor Scott Zashin is a widely respected arthritis expert in Dallas, known for both his medical expertise and attentiveness to patients. In addition to utilizing newer medical treatments that have dramatically improved the lives of many of his patients, Dr. Zashin also has experience with natural treatments and other therapies not routinely used by other rheumatologists. As a result, Dr. Zashin never automatically dismisses the potential benefit of an alternative treatment. In all cases, he will work with you to develop the best treatment plan for your condition. His goal for every patient is to identify the safest and most effective therapy to reduce pain, increase function, and improve your quality of life. Dr. Zashin completed his undergraduate education and medical school at Dartmouth in Hanover New Hampshire and his medical training at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He previously served as Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine in the Rheumatology division at UT Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. He is also a private-practice rheumatologist at Presbyterian Hospitals of Dallas, where he has practiced since 1989. In some cases, he will work with his colleagues at other well-known medical centers in the United States to help with disease management.

Positive ANA Blood Tests

Many patients get concerned that they have a medical problem due to a blood test showing a positive ANA (anti nuclear antibody). Do you know that a positive ANA is very common, does not mean the patient has lupus, and can be found in many normal people? If you have been told your ANA is positive, Dr. Zashin will do his best to get you evaluated promptly to determine if there is an underlying cause for the ANA, and if you are not feeling well, how to best improve your condition.

Low Dose Naltrexone Therapy (LDN)

Low dose naltrexone therapy (LDN) is one of the treatments that Dr. Zashin uses to treat chronic pain, fatigue and inflammation. For patients who have been referred by their doctor to Dr. Zashin for treatment with low dose naltrexone or are interested in low dose naltrexone therapy for their medical condition, please notify the new patient coordinator so she can schedule you for an appointment in a timely manner.
