Patient Services
Staff
Kay — Medical Records.
Kay joined our practice in
October 1996, and is
responsible for medical
records and dictation. She
interacts frequently with
patients on the phone and in
the office, setting up
appointments, verifying
insurance, and greeting
patients during office
visits. Kay formerly worked
as an admissions supervisor
at Presbyterian Hospital of
Dallas. She was also a
teacher for a number of
years. She holds a Bachelor
of Science degree in home
economics from the
University of Central
Arkansas. A native of Little
Rock, Arkansas, Kay has a
son, a daughter, and three
grandchildren.
Terri G. — Office Manager.
As our practice’s office
manager, Terri G. wears many
hats. In addition to
overseeing the business
office, including patient
accounts, billing and
insurance, Terri interacts
with our patients on the
phone, at the reception
desk, and at all points
between. A former assistant
general manager for Dave &
Busters, Terri joined Dr.
Zashin’s practice in April
1993. She is married with a
school-aged son, and
volunteers extensively with
the Boy Scouts of America.
In 2005, she received the
BSA’s YES Award for
Extraordinary Service to Our
Youth. She holds a
bachelor’s degree in
business administration from
Richland College. Terri is a
native of Upstate New York.
Patient Care Staff
Chrissy, MLT, MRT — X-ray
and Nursing.
Chrissy is our X-ray
technician. She also handles
patient calls and helps with
nursing activities in the
office and lab. Chrissy is a
licensed medical radiology
technologist and a licensed
medical technician who has
worked in laboratories and
clinical settings ranging
from emergency clinics and
hospitals to private
practices. She joined Dr.
Zashin’s practice in
February 1993. An avid
reader who was born and
raised in Houston, Texas,
Chrissy is a busy mom with a
teenaged son and a Scottish
Terrier named Jakki.
Kim, MA — Nursing.
Kim is a certified medical
assistant. She works with
our patients during office
visits, taking medical
histories and vital signs.
She holds a Bachelor of
Science degree in human
development/pre-medicine
from The University of Texas
at Austin, where she was
recognized as one of the 10
“Most Outstanding Students”
in 2005. She also worked
part-time as an MA in a busy
immunology practice while
pursuing her degree. Kim
enjoys swimming and
traveling — especially her
work as a community
volunteer in developing
countries. A native of
University Park, Texas, she
joined our practice in
October 2005.
Maureen, BSN, RN —
Nursing.
Maureen is a registered
nurse who holds a Bachelor
of Science degree in nursing
from Humboldt State
University in Arcata,
California. A lifelong
nurse, Maureen worked for
many years in hospital
intensive care units and
emergency rooms, as well as
in a family practice office.
She joined Dr. Zashin in
October 1995, and works in
all areas of patient care,
including physical
assessments, immunizations,
Remicade® infusions and
patient education. She also
works with patients by phone
to answer questions and
address concerns. A
grandmother to eight,
Maureen is an active
community volunteer,
particularly in church
activities. She is a native
of Fort Bragg, California.
Norma, PBT, NCT — Lab &
X-ray.
Norma joined our practice in
March 1995, and is both an
X-ray technician and a
phlebotomist. Known for her
gentle touch, she draws
blood and also processes
specimens for testing. Norma
earned her PBT certification
through the American Society
for Clinical Pathology, and
is registered with the State
of Texas as a noncertified
radiology technician. Norma
has worked as a phlebotomist
for nearly 20 years in both
the hospital and laboratory
settings, including tenures
with Presbyterian Hospital
of Dallas, SmithKline and
LabCorp. Norma is happily
married with two daughters.
A native of Amherst, Texas,
she enjoys reading Christian
books.
Penny, MT — Lab.
Penny works with patients in
our on-site lab, drawing
blood and other samples for
testing. A licensed medical
technologist, she has worked
in hospitals, clinics and
reference labs for more than
25 years. Penny holds an
Associate of Science degree
in medical technology from
Navarro College in
Corsicana, Texas. She joined
Dr. Zashin’s practice in
June 2003. A native of
Conroe, Texas, Penny enjoys
spending time with her
daughter, granddaughter, and
Spot the cat.
Terry C., LVN, NCT —
Nursing.
Terry is a licensed
vocational nurse, who began
her career working as a
hospital staff nurse on a
medical/surgical floor. A
native of Falls River,
Wisconsin, she joined our
practice in September 1991.
She helps Dr. Zashin with
exams and procedures,
talking with patients on the
phone, and educating
patients on issues ranging
from joint care to
self-injection of
medications. Terri has a
teenaged daughter and son
(and a cat named Buttercup).
She is a busy volunteer who
enjoys working with the
youth of her church and as a
missionary.
Vickie, RN, BSN — Nursing.
As one of our five nurses,
Vickie assists Dr. Zashin in
caring for patients. A
native of New Orleans,
Vickie holds a Bachelor of
Science degree in nursing
from Our Lady of the Holy
Cross College. Prior to
joining Dr. Zashin in 1997,
she worked in the hospital
setting first as an oncology
nurse and later as an
infection control
specialist. Vickie is a busy
wife and mother with a son
and a daughter (and a Golden
Retriever named Shelby and
an Irish Setter mix named
Lacey). She enjoys
scrapbooking, making
greeting cards, art, reading
and organizing book clubs.
Vickie also teachers
religious education and
coaches the Destination
Imagination Team for Pioneer
Middle School in Frisco,
Texas.
